The OHS Jazz Band is open to 9th - 12th grade musicians who play traditional jazz instruments including saxophone, trumpet, trombone, guitar, bass, piano, drum set, vibraphone, and other auxiliary percussion. This class is a zero hour period and meets twice a week before school in both the fall and the spring.

The OHS Jazz Band (and Jazz Combo) performs at the Winter Concert, OCS Prism Concert, Spring Concert, and other performance opportunities throughout both semesters.

The Jazz Band is considered to be an extension of the concert band courses, meaning students must also be enrolled in a band class in order to be a member of the Jazz Band. Exceptions to this rule for less typical band instruments (bass, guitar, and piano) may apply with director approval. Students interested in joining Jazz Band should contact Mrs. Johnson.
